A non-refundable retainer fee is required to initiate service, which will be credited toward any case-related work performed as outlined in our fee schedule.
Review of case-related work materials, reports, and records. Analysis of policy, procedure, and best practices. Preparation of written reports, summaries, or affidavits related to case-related work. Responding to discovery requests. Meetings or conferences (in-person or virtual) with attorneys, agencies, or clients. Preparation for deposition, trial, or hearing testimony. Site visits, inspections, and evaluations (a $1,500 advance required for out-of-town inspections). Travel time (portal-to-portal) will be billed at the standard hourly rate, as outlined in the fee schedule, and is subject to the daily maximum below. A retainer fee may also be applicable for ongoing case-related work.
For case-related work such as deposition, trial, arbitration, or hearing testimony (including waiting and breaks), a retainer fee of $1,500 is required in advance to reserve testimony dates. Please note that all balances must be paid in full prior to the testimony, as outlined in our fee schedule.
Applies if total time spent on case-related work exceeds 6 hours in a given day. Testimony or consulting beyond this limit will be billed at the hourly rate according to the fee schedule, in addition to any retainer fee.
Travel expenses related to case-related work, including airfare, lodging, meals, rental cars, and mileage at $0.70/mile, are outlined in our fee schedule. Please note that non-refundable or cancelled travel expenses will not be reimbursed. Additionally, costs for reproduction, copying, printing, and mailing, as well as technology expenses associated with remote testimony or consulting, are included. Lastly, compensation for cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled appearance will adhere to the retainer fee agreement.
Itemized invoices for case-related work are issued monthly, with payment due upon receipt. Late payments will incur a 2% monthly service charge as outlined in our fee schedule. Please note that work may be suspended for accounts that are past due, and late fees will be assessed after 30 days past due, impacting the retainer fee agreement.
